Sweed suffers Achilles tendon injury

LimasSweed 247x300 Sweed suffers Achilles tendon injuryThe awful news continues for Pittsburgh Steelers WR Limas Sweed. On the final day of minicamp practices, it appears that the former University of Texas star has suffered a serious Achilles tendon injury, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

If it’s a ruptured Achilles, he will probably miss all of the 2010 season.

Sweed was a second-round pick back in 2008 and has caught a whopping total of seven passes in two years. Last year, he was deactivated at the end of the year and shut down for “personal issues.”

Stay tuned on the severity of the injury, but early reports don’t seem good.
