Wood activated from the MPL (DL)
The Cleveland Indians have activated closer Kerry Wood off of the Mark Prior List (DL) after just two rehab starts. It’s a little odd because he gave up six runs in the first one. To make room for Wood, they optioned Jensen Lewis to AAA Columbus.
Wood had been on the MPL since April 3rd with a strained lat muscle.
Wood might immediately return to the closer role, which would probably make Chris Perez the setup guy. We’re pretty sure the Indians would love for Wood to pitch well so they can move him before the deadline.
