Mikhail Prokhorov’s deal to purchase Nets approved
Russian gazillionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, who thought the Nets were actually a hockey team, was finally able to get his deal approved by the NBA to purchase the New Jersey basketball team.

Prokhorov is the 39th richest man in the world according to the 2010 Forbes list and is currently chairman of Polyus Gold, Russia’s largest gold producer, and President of Onexim Group.
Hopefully, the talents and wisdom he gained from his highly lucrative and successful precious metals background will help him in persuading Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, or Lebron James to play on his horrible basketball team. Possibly, even paying them in nickel, palladium, or perhaps gold?
I don’t think the “You can be teammates with Trenton Hassell” line will fly with these All-Stars. Especially, when that’s followed by “We have big plans for Terrence Williams next year.” Nope, gotta pay them in palladium, Prokhorov.
And don’t be surprised if this guy takes a run at Alexander Ovechkin. Good luck New Jersey.
