Patriots cut Shawn Springs

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the New England Patriots have severed ties with cornerback Shawn Springs. At 35-years old, this could be the end of the road for Springs.

Drafted by the Seahawks in 1997, Springs also spent time with the Washington Redskins. He started eight games last year for the Patriots.

A few months ago, Springs was thinking about retirement and possibly heading to law school to become a player agent. It’s possible that he finds another home on a corner-needy team.
