Merling arrested for domestic issue

Miami Dolphins DE Phillip Merling was arrested Wednesday night, according to Omar Kelly on Twitter. Apparently, Merling gave his pregnant girlfriend the business and the cops didn’t appreciate it.

“Dolphins DE Phillip Merling was indeed arrested last night for a domestic dispute with his pregnant girlfriend. Story to come,” Kelly tweets.

Merling was the No. 32-overall pick in 2008. So far, he’s pretty much been a disappointment. He hasn’t become an every-down player and his job status is up in the air now that the Dolphins have taken Jared Odrick in the first round.

Merling has been charged with “domestic battery,” which sounds to us like he hit a pregnant woman.
