Rift growing between Patriots and Brady?

We sottainly didn’t expect to be hearin’ iss and we wondah what those had ons in Boston think of it. While they-ah precious Celtics ah tryin’ tah beat the Lak-ahs in fah straight games, they-ah cottahback is enterin’ the final yee-ah of his sixty million dollah deal.

Ok, enough Boston talk. But seriously, according to Michael Silvah (ok, one mah. Ok, that’s two) of Yahoo! Sports, there have been no substantial talks of a contract extension between Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Brady is entering the final year of his contract and one would think that he’d be in line to get one of the top contracts in NFL history.

Brady declined to talk to Silver about the situation as he says he’s not comfortable talking about it. But, Patriots owner Bob Kraft expressed optimism last week about a deal getting done.

“We’re very lucky to have him as our quarterback and we want him to be our quarterback for a long time into the future,” Kraft said.

Silver says that some of those close to Brady feel like the organization isn’t exactly killing themselves to get a deal done. And while it’s a remote possibility that Brady would ever leave via free agency, it is possible that Brady gets the franchise tag at some point.

Maybe the lack of a CBA and pending labor issues are holding up a deal. That’s certainly possible. But, despite the fact that Brady turns 33-years old in August, you’d have to think that there is no way in hell that they let this dude walk. That would just seem stupid to us.
