Ray McDonald rocks the party

San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald had a little issue with the drinky drink this weekend when he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influend in San Mateo County Saturday night. He was released from jail at 9:39pm and is scheduled to appear in court on July 22nd.

Apparently, one of the first things he did was call the 49ers to tell them what happened. That’s pretty forward thinking when you consider some athletes (Pacman Jones) could get arrested and not bring it up for months.

“The 49ers are aware of the recent matter involving Ray McDonald,” a 49ers spokesman wrote in a statement to Comcast SportsNet. “Ray informed the organization of the situation immediately Saturday evening.

“We take these issues very seriously, but will reserve further comment at this time, as this is an ongoing legal matter. The 49ers will continue to gather the facts and monitor the developments closely.”
