Cardinals interested in Cliff Lee?
Jeff Fletcher of AOL has confirmed that the St. Louis Cardinals are indeed interested in making a move for Seattle Mariners LHP Cliff Lee. Not exactly sure why, but he says they are.
“MLB source confirms @ed_price tweet that #stlcards are interested in C.Lee. Not sure where talks stand. #mariners,” he tweets.
We aren’t sure exactly where they are in trade talks, but according to Rotoworld, the Cardinals really only have one top prospect. That’s Shelby Miller, a Single-A pitcher who is just 19-years old. We’d have to think he’d be part of that deal.
We aren’t exactly sure why the Cardinals would be so interested in Lee. Sure, who wouldn’t want to add his studly 2.30 ERA, but the Cardinals seem to be more needy in the area of hitting. Chris Carpenter, Adam Wainwright, Jaime Garcia and Cliff Lee? You serious? Maybe they wouldn’t need hitting if they had those four.
Ahh real sports and baseball. 1 of the things I enjoy most around it is that one is able argue forever about the game, opinions and statistics are never ending.
