Nigeria soccer team sentenced to death
Heading into the World Cup, Nigeria was considered to be one of Africa’s more heavily favored teams. They lost their first two games to Argentina (0-1) and Greece (1-2), and tied South Korea (2-2) in their final match finishing dead last in their pool.
The Nigerian president was so upset with the under achieving team that he sentenced every single player to death by firing squad. However, FIFA does not tolerate the act of killing, so for now the team is only suspended from international competition for two years.
Special presidential adviser Ima Niboro told reporters the decision by Goodluck Jonathan will “enable Nigeria to reorganize its football.”
He said: “This directive became necessary following Nigeria’s poor performance in the ongoing World Cup.”
