Reyes tweaks his oblique, won’t play in All-Star Game
New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes always seems to be battling some sort of injury. Hamstring, thyroid, you name it. Lately, he’s been dealing with balky oblique muscle and on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves, he tweaked it while fielding a ground ball.
Reyes left the game and, according to ESPN’s Adam Rubin, will sit out the All-Star Game (he’ll probably miss the Home Run Derby too. He’s not a home run hitter, but that hasn’t stopped MLB from shoehorning those types of players into the event).
“Reyes confirms he’s out of All-Star Game and league has been informed,” Rubin tweets.
Reyes will rest for now throughout the All-Star break, but you’d have to think that if he’s feeling discomfort next week that he’ll get sent to the DL. It’s ok, he’s used to it and very comfortable there.

Hi, I’m a professional pianist and I’ve made a stupid rule that allows me to take a 15 min break every single 1 hour of practicing.
