Chargers extend Gates
The San Diego Chargers have had their public issues with player contracts this offseason. WR Vincent Jackson is not happy with his deal, nor is tackle Marcus McNeil.
But, the Chargers did make one player happy recently. Specifically, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that the team gave Antonio Gates an extension.
“Filed to Espn: Antonio Gates will be highest paid TE. Agrees 5 yr extenson @ 7.235 mill per yr. $20.4 mil giuarantees w Chargers,” Mort tweeted with poor grammar, spelling and punctuation.
We’ll operate under the assumption that Mort is correct here. He’s wrong an awful lot.
But that’s good news for Gates and the Chargers. He’ll be about 35-years old when his contract is up, so he could realistically play out the duration.

Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
