Dom Brown called up to the Phillies

DomonicBrown1 199x300 Dom Brown called up to the PhilliesFor those of you dying for the Philadelphia Phillies to call up their top prospect Dom Brown, you don’t have to wait any longer. Centerfielder Shane Victorino was sent to the 15-day DL today with a strained oblique. And that means it’s Dom Brown time.

Brown has been ripping up the minor leagues in the past couple years. He started this year in Double A, but was quickly moved up to Triple A, where he continued his torrid pace.

The 22-year old has hit .327 with 20 home runs and 68 RBIs in 93 games this season in Double A and Triple A. Many wanted him brought up when the Phillies’ bats were slumping so badly a couple months ago. But we’re glad they didn’t do it. The last thing this kid needed was to feel like he had to be a savior.

Brown is likely starting in right field tonight and will wear #9.

  6. This is acquiring a bit far more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has a lot more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you swiftly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one particular of individuals will center on that item, and one more set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate close to exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” can also be fantastic fun, letting you come across other people with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to some playlist developed depending on an amalgamation of what all your close friends are listening to, which can be enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to understand you’ll be able to prevent the public from seeing your individual listening habits should you so pick.
