Howard could avoid the DL?
The Philadelphia Phillies got yet another injury scare on Sunday against the Washington Nationals. In the first inning, 1B Ryan Howard left the game when he tweaked his ankle sliding into second base.
But, x-rays were negative and, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, manager Charlie Manuel doesn’t think that Howard will need to hit the DL.
“Manuel said he doesn’t think it’s a DL situation for Howard. Howard hopes he can play in a couple days,” Zolecki tweets.
This would be huge for the Phillies, who now trail the Atlanta Braves by just 2.5 games in the NL East. With Chase Utley already missing extended time, this team can’t afford another major blow.

What I would like to know is why should I care? I mean, not to say that what you have got to say isn’t critical, but I mean, its so universal. Everybody’s discussing this man. Give us some thing extra, some thing that we can get behind so we can really feel as zealous about it as you do.
