Isiah signs with Knicks, but NBA is investigating
This is bizarre on so many levels. The New York Knicks announced today that they have brought back Isiah Thomas as a consultant. Yes, for basketball stuff.
“Isiah Thomas brings unique experience as a Hall of Fame player, coach, executive and owner, and we believe having him as part of our organization will be extremely beneficial to the team’s success,” Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan and team president Donnie Walsh announced in a statement.
What? Are you serious? The only thing he ever brought the Knicks when he was team president and head coach were losses and sexual harassment lawsuits. You have got to be kidding.
So, he’s being brought in as a consultant, yet he’s still going to be head coach of Florida International. The Golden Panthers obviously can’t part with him because he brought them a 7-25 record last year. That’s success.
But, Knicks fans might get lucky here. The NBA might have a problem with that type of arrangement and they are investigating.
“We are reviewing the agreement, in consultation with the Knicks, for compliance with league rules,” league spokesman Tim Frank said.
Knick fans better pray that this is a violation. This guy is the Matt Millen of the NBA.

This is getting a bit much more subjective, but I a lot choose the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has a lot more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you rapidly see associated albums, songs, or other users associated to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one particular of those will center on that item, and one more set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate close to exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” can be fantastic enjoyable, letting you come across others with shared tastes and becoming good friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your good friends are listening to, which can be enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to learn it is possible to avoid the public from seeing your individual listening habits in case you so choose.
