Kaczur to miss entire season?
As it is, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has had to work to get his confidence back in the pocket following his 2008 ACL injury. People can say “oh he’s fine” and whatever and blah blah woof woof, but the reality is that someone came through the line and collapsed his knee. Say what you want, it was going to take him a minute to get comfortable again with guys diving all around his legs while he tried to find a receiver downfield.
So, one would imagine that he wouldn’t be thrilled if he was to lose one of the guys that is supposed to keep the opposing guys from falling on his knee. Especially when it’s the guy who is replacing a quality starter like Logan Mankins (contract issues).
But, a league source says that Nick Kaczur is telling teammates that he has a back issue that could sideline him for the entire 2010 season. The Patriots, however, would not confirm that information or comment on his long-term prognosis. He has been sidelined for the team’s last 11 training camp practices.
This would leave the Pats with Dan Connolly, who has four career starts, all coming last season. The Patriots should hope that Kaczur is just messing with his teammates and BS’ing them. That is most likely not the case.
