Congratulations to Perry and Michele!
At OTR, we usually congratulate ourselves for doing a great job. It happens a lot. We aren’t in the business of congratulating others unless, 1. we somehow benefit, or 2. they did something like threaten their family with a golf club or shove their girlfriend down a flight of stairs.
But today, we are willing to step out of our comfort zone and not only congratulate OTR’s Michael Perry on his marriage to the lovely and talented Michele Kawamoto, but also give them an award. That’s right, in lieu of sending a wedding gift, OTR is doing something far greater by presenting the young couple with the official OTR Lifetime Achievement Award, which is given annually to those who strive for greatness in their early 30′s. This award is theirs to keep for an entire year, until Micah gets married on September 18th. Enjoy it, guys, because you have earned it.

But, it wouldn’t be an official award ceremony without celebrities tweeting their well wishes. It was good to see Chris Johnson weigh in with his congrats:

Those were some very kind words indeed. I think we all need to take a minute to reflect on the wisdom that Johnson has droppeth upon us.
But anyway, yes, congratulations to Perry and Michele on their happy day that happened in the not-too-distant past at some point. They will be missed and remembered in our hearts forever as long as they both shall live. And while we don’t have a physical trophy for your major award, it is still yours to keep.
Please don’t thank OTR, we wanted to do this. It is only because we are so selfless and charitable that we were able to share your special moment.
