Pedroia headed back to the DL
Well, isn’t this a shocker. The Boston Red Sox have been brilliant this season in knowing when to bring their injured players back off the DL. Second baseman Dustin Pedroia didn’t sound like someone who was confident in the health of his foot when he came off the disabled list and now we know why.
The Sox are putting Pedroia back on the DL after he continued to experience soreness in his foot. Shocking!
Doctors said that he didn’t do any additional damage to the foot that he broke in June, and the Sox are probably hoping he’ll be good to go in two weeks. Not that it matters, the Tampa Bay Rays or the New York Yankees are taking the division. And whoever doesn’t, will most likely be ahead of the Sox in the wild card.
The Red Sox also did a marvelous job with Jacoby Ellsbury this year, having him hit the DL three times with basically the same injury.
