Wilson could be out for the year
While many teams talk about what they want to do in preseason games in terms of getting in the end zone, forcing turnovers or getting pressure on the quarterback or whatever, that’s all kind of BS. While they really do want to iron out the kinks before the games count, they all have the same goal: Don’t get hurt.
That would mean that the Cincinnati Bengals failed last night against the Philadelphia Eagles, because it looks like they may have lost S Gibril Wilson for the year.
While we still don’t know for sure, his agent Alvin Keels tweeted about the injury last night.
“ACL/MCL for Gibril Wilson what a bummer. I felt he would really contribute this year. He will bounce back,” he said.
Wilson was in the mix at the safety spot with Roy Williams, Chris Crocker and Chinedum Ndukwe. He was probably towards the bottom half of that mix, but still. He’s a veteran who could come in and do a decent job. Sort of.
