Revis wants $162 million over 10 years?
According to Bob Glauber of Newsday, the New York Jets are close to signing center Nick Mangold to a long-term deal. That’s generally believed to be the case. But, according to Glauber, that is most certainly not the case with CB Darrelle Revis, despite what Tim Cowlishaw has said.
Sources tell Glauber that the Jets are offering Revis Island $122 over 10 years. Wow. No, all of that wouldn’t be guaranteed (far from it), but that’s a huge deal if that’s really the case.
But, Glauber said his sources are telling him that Revis actually wants $162 million over 10 years. That’s beyond ridiculous, especially since he still has three years left on his current contract.
That’s a $40 million difference of opinion and it doesn’t look like they are going to bridge that gap any time soon. How long will Revis continue to hold out? It looks like he’ll have to be the one to budge since I can’t see any team paying him that kind of dough. Nor should they.

When I recently discovered your site and started following along, I was thinking I’d post my very 1st comment. I don’t know just what to say except that I genuinely liked reading through. Great writings. I am going to carry on browsing this site more regularly.

Im not gonna lie, youve lost me here. I know which you meant well and you definitely know what youre talking about, but I cant say that I get where youre coming from. In the event you want individuals to realize your points, you must take into consideration the other side in the argument, too. Youve got a wealth of knowledge, Ill give you that. But, quite frankly, you turned me off together with your tone.
