Bradford sharp, but Rams lose Avery
Good news and bad news for the St. Louis Rams. Actually there are two pieces of good news for the Rams. The first piece of good news is that they even have a piece of good news. And that good news is that rookie QB Sam Bradford actually looked pretty sharp against the New England.
Bradford was 15-of-22 for 189 yards, two TD’s and no interceptions. He even led the team on a nice 10-play, 72-yard touchdown drive on the opening series. It’s that much better considering against the Cleveland Browns they didn’t even want him to look farther than six yards down the field. Nice to see that they may not have drafted a waste of space with the No. 1-overall pick.
The bad news (the Rams can take it, they are used to bad news) is that their top wide receiver, Donnie Avery was carted off the field after his knee buckled on him. We didn’t see it, but supposedly it was a bad scene. He immediately clutched his knee and was down for a few minutes.
It’s probably safe to say that he’s going to be out for a while. Like the whole season. Of course we are speculating, but it didn’t look good.
