Jay Bruce goes yard, yard, yard, consecutively
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce decided it would be nice to hit three homeruns tonight in consecutive at-bats, so he did it.
In a 7-1 win over the Chicago Cubs, the 23-year old from Beaumont, Texas hit homeruns in the 3rd, 5th, and 7th innings, giving him 16 for the season. The last person to hit homeruns in three consecutive at-bats is unknown, but people from Chicago speculate that it could have been Roger Maris. Or maybe even somebody else.

The win helped improve the Reds record to 74-54, good for first place in the Central Division, four games ahead of the St Louis Cardinals.
