Sorgi sent to injured reserve

The guy that was Peyton Manning’s clipboard holder for more years than we can remember, will not get a chance to be Eli’s clipboard holder this season. The New York Giants have placed him on injured reserve with a bum shoulder.

This means that Rhett Bomar will be the replacement should something happen that would cause blood to flow vociferously (not sure that word is applicable here) from his head.

Sorgi was working hard to get back on the field, but the Giants knew he wouldn’t be ready for the season. Of course, none of this matters if Eli stays upright.
