Cowboys sign Austin to six-year extension
The looming labor uncertainty hasn’t kept many owners from giving certain players big contracts and extensions. That trend continued today when, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a six-year, $50+ million extension with WR Miles Austin.
The total deal is believed to be worth about $57 million, although we don’t know how much of the deal has been guaranteed.
This makes him the highest paid WR on the team finally. He’s been the Cowboys best receiver for a while, but Roy Williams got a five-year, $45 million extension in October 2008. Clearly, a contract he doesn’t deserve.
Let’s hope Austin doesn’t do the same thing Williams did and go in the tank after getting paid.
