Stafford won’t need surgery

MattStafford Stafford wont need surgeryThe Detroit Lions got some good news on QB Matt Stafford’s shoulder injury. According to head coach Jim Schwartz, last year’s No. 1-overall draft won’t need surgery.

He said that there is still no timetable for his return, but one would have to think that if he had to have surgery on it, he’d have missed the entire year. This whole shoulder thing raises some level of concern because he was dealing with a shoulder problem last year too.

Stafford went down when Julius Peppers slammed him to the ground. Shaun Hill took over him and kinda sorta threw the winning TD pass to Calvin Johnson, but the refs didn’t count it.

Right now, the injury to Stafford is being called a Grade II sprain of the AC joint. He’ll miss anywhere from 2-6 weeks.
