K-Rod charged with criminal contempt

Is it me or is this just the kind of thing that happens when you are on the New York Mets? This team has worse luck than Pacman Jones at a strip club. You probably heard about Francisco Rodriguez attacking his girlfriend’s father at Citi Field. Well, now it has gotten worse.

Because he sent his girlfriend 56 text messages after the incident in an attempt to reconcile, he violated an order of protection. His reward for that is new charges of criminal contempt.

Yay?

K-Rod hurt his thumb during the incident and is on the disqualified list. The Mets say they aren’t going to pay him until he gets off that list. What a disaster.
