Ryan fuming at Edwards situation, may bench him this week

We mentioned earlier that New York Jets WR Braylon Edwards had a little issue with the drinky drink early this morning when he was pulled over and cited for DWI in New York City. The Jets were obviously not pleased and supposedly, head coach Rex Ryan is uber pissed off.

According to the New York Post, he’s so “infuriated” by the situation, that he’s strongly considering deactivating him for this week’s Sunday night matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

If they were to suspend him for one game without pay, they’d likely face problems from the NFLPA because he technically hasn’t been convicted of anything other than poor judgment. But as far as just deactivating him for the game, that’s a team’s personnel decision and would be uncontested.
