Beltran to have MRI on surgically repaired knee

If you are a fan of schadenfreude (and who isn’t?), then you have to love the New York Mets. They will provide you with all the enjoyment you need when it comes to the reveling in the misfortune of others.

Not only are they far out of the playoff race (again), but they have even more injuries piling up. After missing Beltran for much of the season with a knee issue, he is now reporting discomfort in said knee for the first time since returning to the Mets this year.

According to Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com, he’s going to have an MRI to see just what in the hell is going.

“Beltran will have an MRI on Wednesday. He said it’s the first time he had pain since return this season. “I feel something.” Rubin tweets.

Seriously, this is ridiculous at this point. Eventually, Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya will take the fall, but is it their fault that this team just can’t stay healthy?
