Andre Smith out for the year?

The Cincinnati Bengals took a huge gamble in the 2009 NFL Draft by taking Alabama tackle Andre Smith with the No. 6-overall pick. So far it hasn’t paid off. He was a holdout last year, tends to be overweight and got benched Monday night after giving up a sack.

And it just gets worse for Smith. According to the Bengals’ official Twitter account, Smith broke his foot and it’s not good.

“Andre smith has broken same foot could be out for year,” the Bengals tweeted.

Smith has been able to play in just 13 games over the past two years. And based on his weight, he doesn’t need injuries that will only cause him to sit on the couch more often and be less active.

This shouldn’t affect Cedric Benson’s fantasy value too much, if at all.
