Yao hurt again…what’s new?

Yao Ming shocked everyone on Wednesday night when he limped off the court in a loss to the Washington Wizards. One might even guess that it’s in his contract that he has to get hurt with an alarming degree of regularity just to get paid.

Well, here is the good news. Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey said that the injury is brand new and not related to any of his previous foot problems. Hooray!!

This time, it would seem to be his ankle, and we won’t know more until there are further tests. But, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle says that Yao did not seem optimistic when discussing his injury.

We can’t imagine that this does anything to help Yao’s case about playing back-to-back nights or for more than 24 minutes in a game.
