Oden done for the year

Portland Trailblazers center Greg Oden cannot catch a break. Literally. Any break associated with Oden in his short career usually happens in one of his knees. He will now undergo microfracture surgery for the second time in his career and miss the rest of the season.

The good news is Oden has played a full NBA season. The bad news is that those 82 games came over the course of three and a half seasons. The No. 1-overall pick in the NBA in 2007 (over Kevin Durant mind you), Oden has been unable to stay on the court.

This is the third time he has suffered a season-ending knee injury. Oden hasn’t played all season and now he won’t at all.

You know the word “bust” will probably be in every news article relating to his latest surgery.

Hopefully, the surgery works out for him. Microfracture surgery is beyond a sure thing.
