NFL looking into Talib’s incident with official

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told TampaBay.com that the NFL is “looking into” an incident that occurred between Tampa Bay Bucanneers cornerback Aqib Talib and a game official. Talib was apparently upset about a pass interference call on Myron Lewis that led to a Baltimore Ravens touchdown just before the half.

The best part about this is that usually we hear about players screaming at officials, but we rarely hear about the official firing back.

Allegedly, the official responded to Talib’s complaints following the game with this little quip.

Photo Caption: “Hello, good sir! ‘Tis a nice morn indeed, eh? I just wanted to let you know, however, that I will, indeed, punch you in the fucking mouth if I do see fit.”

“You play like a (expletive),” he said to Talib.

This official was clearly not familiar with Talib’s borish behavior and propensity to just pop someone (like, say, a cab driver?).

Talib had to be restrained by teammates and replied, “I’ll (hit) you in your (expletive) mouth.”

And right or wrong, he’s probably serious. He will indeed hit you in the mouth. We’ll see what comes of all this when the NFL checks it out.
