Chiefs lock up Charles for five years
The Kansas City Chiefs have done something incredibly intelligent. They locked up their stud super weapon for the next five years.
Yep, they nailed down Jamaal Charles with a five-year contract worth a total of $32.5 million (who knows if that’s really the truth), according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. $13 million of it is guaranteed.
It’s a great deal for all involved. The Chiefs get their little keg of dynamite while he is in his prime, and Charles will be able to become a free agent at the age of 28. Okay, chances are that he’ll be toast by then as his speed will be beaten the hell out of him by NFL defenses who don’t give a flying shit about his health. But, let’s not talk about sad things on such a joyous day.
Good move by the Chiefs. Charles is a huge weapon that they got at a relatively bargain price.
