Bailey probably done in Denver
With the pending lockout of the NFL, no one knows what’s going to happen with football in 2011. Will there be a franchise tag? Will there be a CBA? Who knows? But what we probably do know, is that Champ Bailey won’t be back with the Denver Broncos.
And Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post says as much in a recent Q&A on the Post‘s website.
“The chances of Bailey being back in Denver are probably independent of the franchise tag, because that price is likely too steep for a rebuilding team like the Broncos,” Legwold writes.
Bailey will be 33-years old this coming June. We aren’t completely sure what he’s going to command on the open market as he gets older and his legs get worse, but it’s probably more than the Broncos would/should spend on him.
Denver’s defense is absolutely horrific and needs to rebuild. So this means that Bailey and Brian Dawkins are probably finished with the team.
