Edmonds ends comeback bid
Jim Edmonds has had moments of brilliance in his career as a top-flight centerfielder. However, he’s 40-years old now and clearly a fringe MLB player at this point.
And now it seems like he’s realized his own mortality. Edmonds has ended his comeback bid with the St. Louis Cardinals and it appears that he’s ready to hang them up.

Edmonds has been bothered by his Achilles tendon that he had surgery on in January. He was attempting to make the Cardinals roster as a bench player, after being offered a minor-league contract.
The Cardinals are expected to address the situation later in a press conference that no one will care about.
