Quarles rocks the DUI party
Shelton Quarles spent his entire 10-year career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a linebacker. At 39-years old, he’s now a member of their scouting department. And for the last several hours or so, he’s been a member of a jail cell.
Quarles was arrested around 2:30 AM Friday morning in Tampa on DUI charges. He was pulled over and refused to submit to a sobriety test. That will usually do it.
This comes at a time when the Bucs have vehemently denied accusations that they don’t care about character when it comes to their players. Quarles is their director of pro scouting and now might not be a great time for him to discuss this topic.
Quarles was a Pro Bowler in 2002, the only year they won a Super Bowl. His bail was set at $500 and one would have to think that he’ll pay that at some point.
