Jimenez to the DL with cracked cuticle

It’s funny that NFL players get paid way less than MLB players. And all we heard about all year long in the NFL was about concussions and retired players dying from their football-related ailments. And in baseball, we get…this.

The Colorado Rockies have place pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez on the DL with a cracked cuticle on his pitching thumb. It’s not known whether or not he could die after his playing days are over if he tries to pitch through it.

Apparently, the Rockies are afraid that it will mess up his mechanics if he pitches with it. One opening day, he was horrible against the Arizona Diamondbacks, giving up six runs on seven hits in six innings.

The move is retroactive to April 2nd.
