Kenny Britt: Everybody’s All American

Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt seems like an all-around great guy. After all, he’s only had three run-ins with the law in the last 16 months. That’s not bad, right? Whether it’s not paying parking tickets or being a tertiary part of a bar brawl or not paying a friend’s bail like he…you know…said he would, Britt is a shining example of off-the-field decision making.

And he showed off that pristine decision making on Tuesday, when he was arrested after he took off on a car chase with the police. He was clocked doing 71 mph in a 50-mph speed limit (hardly the biggest crime in the world). When an officer attempted to pull out and stop him, he gunned it and began weaving in and out of traffic. If you’re a young kid reading this, trust me, it was exactly the right decision.

So they (he had a friend with him) pulled off to a back street, where they got out of the car and started walking away. An officer approached the two upstanding gentlemen and wanted to question them. Britt’s friend ran away on foot, which was a very brave choice indeed.

Britt said it was his Porsche, but that he wasn’t the driver. I guess that’s possible given the behavior of his friend.

Regardless, Britt is charged with eluding a police officer, lying to an officer/hindering apprehension and obstructing governmental function.
