Garland done for the year?
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Jon Garland has been on the DL twice this season after signing a one-year, $5 million contract with the club. He last went on the DL in June with what is being called “shoulder inflammation.”
And a well-placed source tells ESPNLosAngeles.com that it’s likely that Garland is done for the year.
“Jon has a complicated shoulder, and we are trying to figure out the best thing to do for him both long-term and short-term,” Dodgers medical-services director Stan Conte said. He also added that he’s not quite sure right now what type of surgery he’d need if he did go under the knife.
Garland was 1-5 this season with a 4.33 ERA. He’s not great, but he’s not a bum either.
