Titans to make “huge” offer for Hasselbeck?

According to Mike Lombardi of NFL Network, the Tennessee Titans are prepared to make a “huge” offer for former Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck. I know, I know, when you first saw the headline, you thought that they were going to bring in Elisabeth Hasselbeck to preach illogical conservative politics to Kenny Britt. But, that’s not what we’re talking about.

“He fits what they want to do,” said Lombardi.

So they’re looking for a QB who can come right in and sit out with a sore back while making poor throws during the time period where he’s actually healthy enough to play? Round peg! Round hole!

The Titans drafted Jake Locker with the No. 8-overall pick in the draft and they apparently want him to sit for a bit. Jason La Canfora of NFL Network also has said that he thinks Hasselbeck is headed to the Titans.

But what about this “huge” offer? Wouldn’t they just be outbidding themselves? Who is going to pay Hasselbeck big money? Why? Because he had a good playoff game?
