Greg Olsen is available to…everyone

You want Greg Olsen from the Chicago Bears? Make a reasonable offer and he’s yours, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus sent an email out to every general manager last night, letting them know that Olsen could be had.

“The Bears have granted me permission to seek a trade for Greg Olsen,” Rosenhaus wrote. “Please let me know if interested. Sounds like the Bears will be very reasonable on the compensation in return for Greg.”

SIDE NOTE: Rotoworld notes that he sent the email out to all 32 teams. We have a tough time believing that as the Bears wouldn’t be required to get that email. Maybe they were cc’ed just to stay in the loop.

Moving on. Rosenhaus then sent a follow-up email just 11 minutes later to all the same people.

“Please disregard my previous email regarding Greg Olsen,” the email said.

Now we’re confused. One personnel executive told the Chicago Tribune that he thinks the Bears got a hold of Rosenhaus and asked him to pull back once they saw how fast and wide the message was sent. It is the internet after all.

But whatever the reason, it sounds like Olsen is available. He’s on the last year of his rookie deal and will be looking to sign an extension with someone. There have been trade rumors surrounding Olsen since Mike Martz came to town last year because Martz’s system doesn’t really feature the tight end very well.
