Umenyiora given permission to seek a trade

New York Giants DE Osi Umenyiora is an unhappy camper. He says that the Giants told him that they would redo his contract at some point and give him more money. And they haven’t. So he’s pissed. However, he did show up to camp and is going through the motions.

But good news for him, according to ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio, the team gave him permission to seek a trade.

“ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reports that the #Giants have given Osi Umenyiora permission to seek a trade,” tweets Evan Silva (like that? Used someone else’s Twitter feed to report a story from someone else. Nice.).

Whoever is interested will have to pay a steep price. We don’t know exactly what the Giants want, but he won’t be free. And on top of that, you’d have to pay him what he thinks he’s worth and who knows what that would be.
