Vikings to cut McKinnie?
Last season, Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie got a bit out of shape. He’s listed at 335 lbs., but he ballooned to about 360 during the season. How does that happen in the midst of working your behind off during an NFL season? No clue.
But, it happened and reports out of Mankato suggest that he’s even fatter than that now. The former first-round pick is reportedly a big blobby mess and might not be fit to protect Donovan McNabb’s blind side.
Ari Wolfe of NFL Network even speculated on Tuesday that the team could cut ties with McKinnie. He’s due a $4.9 million salary and $750,000 in bonuses. He’s not going to see any of those bonuses while he’s on the active/NFI list.
The fact that the team signed Charlie Johnson on Monday speaks volumes. The Vikings clearly are worried that McKinnie is a complete waste of space at this point in his career.
