Will Osi fake an injury now that he can’t be traded?

New York Giants DE Osi Umenyiora isn’t happy. He says that Jerry Reese had previously claimed that he would take care of his contract. And he hasn’t. So, Osi isn’t happy.

His agent was recently given a window to pursue a trade, and apparently he reached out to some 21 teams. And one source tells the NY Daily News that the Giants could have moved him for a second-round pick, but Reese said nah. So now, the window has closed and Osi is an underpaid Giant as far as he’s concerned.

Osi has yet to practice and Tom Coughlin said recently that it has nothing to do with his surgically repaired hip. Hmmmmm. And a source who spoke to Osi yesterday tells the Daily News that he might now claim that he’s not healthy enough to play. Hmmmmm part 2.

Another source tells the paper that the NFLPA is watching this situation closely to make sure the Giants don’t punish him inappropriately. They are mindful that he was a plaintiff in the Brady v. NFL lawsuit and are making sure that none of the players named on that suit get unfair treatment from their teams.
