Torn ACL for Abiamiri

Former Notre Dame defensive end Victor Abiamiri was a second-round pick in 2007. Since that time, he’s only contributed to the Philadelphia Eagles by being hurt. If that makes no sense, it shouldn’t.

He seems like a nice guy, but even the rare times that he was on the field, he didn’t do much. And now, it could be one injury too many for his young career. Howard Eskin of 610 WIP is reporting that Abiamiri tore his ACL at training camp.

“More injury news at Eagles training camp. DE//DT Victor Abiamiri I’m told has torn ACL. Probably done for his career,” Eskin tweets.

We don’t know that his career is definitely over, but he’d have a hell of a hill to climb. He’d have to rehab and get healthy and then prove that he’s better than when he was on the field before the injury….which will be nearly impossible.

It’s pretty certain that he’ll never play another down for the Eagles.
