Knox says he won’t ask for a trade following demotion
The Chicago Bears leading receiver from last year, Johnny Knox, is not in the starting lineup for 2011. Following the team’s acquisition of Roy Williams, Knox was bumped to the bench. And there was speculation that if he got demoted, he’d ask to be traded.
However, Knox says that’s not the case.
“I’m a Bear, and I want to stay a Bear for life,” Knox said.
Still, Knox is understandably frustrated.
“I could see where people were coming from, but it was basically people trying to stir something up,” Knox said of the trade rumors.
So we can squash that talk for now. Plus, why would the Bears trade him? They didn’t add Roy Williams because they are deep at wideout.
