Roy Williams still not in shape
Wide receiver Roy Williams has been with the Chicago Bears and practicing for about two weeks now. And according to him, he’s still not in football shape. So what kind of shape was he in when he reported to camp?
He was asked about his condition after a couple observers noticed him not going full speed.
“Ooh, yeah…About that. How many more weeks have we got?” he said. He was then told that he’d have about two more weeks. He said, “Yeah, I’ll be ready by then.”
Will he?
“I’m a firm believer in no matter what you do in the offseason, nothing will get you football ready except for playing football,” Williams said. “That’s what I believe. It’s tough. You can run all the hills and mountains that you want to, but when you get out here and play for four seconds and jog back to the huddle, that’s what gets you in shape.”
There is probably an ounce of truth to that, but we hardly peg Williams as a guy who would bust his behind on his own in a locked out offseason. He’s the top target on the Bears now with Greg Olsen gone and no other receivers of note on the roster. Still, be careful when drafting him in your fantasy league.

The bears are 24 million dollars under the cap and this is their big offseason pick up. he has looked terrible in practice and in games. Mike Martz still thinks he is the best receiver in NFL history and said that he is a number one receiver for the bears. Besides maybe the charger team who made the super bowl in 96, the Bear may have been the worst team to go as far as they did last season in NFL history and they just continue to baffle me. I thought the cubs were the most disfuntional team in sports. If you follow the bears day by day they are just baffling. And people always ask me if Lovie Smith is a good coach. I still do not know what he does as head coach. I do not know if really needs to attend games on sunday. He has delegated everything, which i understancd all coaches do and have to do, but that is the only thing he has done besides a once a week boring press conference and it is clear he did not even pay attention to the game. Oh and Jerry Angelo is the worst GM in the league. The team is so inept they had to hire an independant commitee to find a GM. and they pick this guy?!?!? he trades down in the draft because he has not had a first round draft pick who stays in the league for a period of time for years. He is actually afraid to draft high picks. Their turf even is so bad that the NFL is thinking of forcing them to redo the field and the bears refuse to change everything
