Five NASCAR drivers turn down Obama’s invitation
For a sport that prides itself on patriotism, this seems especially rude. President Obama and the White House are honoring Jimmie Johnson and 11 other drivers from NASCAR in a ceremony on Wednesday, but five guys can’t make it due to “scheduling conflicts.”
Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart are saying that they essentially have something more important to do. Really? Like what? We’d love to know.

Regardless of your politics, it’s the President of the United States. There aren’t many times that you’ll get invited to the White House with the leader of the free world.
At least two of these guys – Busch and Stewart – are known dickheads. So maybe this isn’t a huge surprise. And while there is a teeny tiny chance that these guys did have something else going on, we seriously doubt it. We firmly believe this is about politics. Without even knowing the political leanings of these guys, we can assume that they’re conservatives. Not a stretch considering you won’t find many tree-hugging, anti-war hippies at Talladega Superspeedway.
With the amount of times Obama has kowtowed to the Republicans, you’d think these guys would love him. Then again, he is black so it might not matter.

Stumbled onto this doing a search for something unrelated.
I can’t believe you made these comments about some of our best NASCAR drivers of today. Did it ever cross your minds (if you have minds) that it might be possible the particular date was inconvenient for them.
You claim to pride yourself on being, to quote, a “…family-friendly, un-biased, down-the-middle sports blog…”
Further, you make comments like you did with the caption under the photo: “God I fucking hate black people.”
I think not, and if you believe what you stated i
n that caption, then you are not really NASCAR fans!!!
You’re not even wannabees! I think you both are as far LEFT as anyone can get!
Your last line sums up exactly where you are coming from. You state: “With the amount of times Obama has kowtowed to the Republicans, you’d think these guys would love him.”
I haven’t made a count of the times ’cause I can’r fine one!
I’d like you to come up with more than one time that Obama has ‘Kowtowed” to any Republican? EVER!
