Oakland signs Manny, will probably win World Series now

As we know from recent movies that try to make their GM look like some sort of genius even though he’s never won jack, the Oakland A’s are always looking for creative ways to get better. Whether it’s finding sub par hitters who get on base a lot or finding suspended juiceheads who can’t play anymore, no stone goes uncovered.

And the A’s have definitely found a suspended steroid abuser who is almost 40 and can’t play baseball anymore. Yes, they agreed to a minor league deal with Manny Ramirez, according to Jon Heyman of SI.com.

“manny is going to a’s,” Heyman tweets with poor use of capitalization.

Manny was originally suspended for 100 games for use of PED’s, but that sentence was reduced to 50 games (why?). It was far from his first offense and makes you wonder when he started using.

If he makes the club, he’ll earn a $500,000 salary. He’s most likely a part-time DH at this point as he’s been worthless in the field for years.
