Bucs cut Derrick Ward

The Tampa Buccaneers have released RB Derrick Ward. It’s a little mind boggling considering they signed him to a four-year, $17 million contract last year, but he looks like he’s running on the beach right now. This means that Cadillac Williams is now clearly “the guy” in Tampa and should slide up fantasy draft boards. [...]

Jets cut Coles

The New York Jets have a lot of bravado. They also have a television show on HBO. In addition, they have released Laveranues Coles. Coles had just 19 yards on four catches running with the two’s and three’s in the preseason, so this isn’t a total shock. It also wouldn’t be a total shock if [...]

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the New England Patriots have severed ties with cornerback Shawn Springs. At 35-years old, this could be the end of the road for Springs. Patriots release Adalius

Finally, someone has ended this awful experiment. The New England Patriots have released outside linebacking disappointment Adalius Thomas, according to Mike Reiss and Adam Schefter of ESPN. Jets release Alan Faneca

According to Manish Mehta of NJ.com, the New York Jets have released all-world (he was at some point anyway) guard Alan Faneca. There had been rumors that he was being shopped, but apparently they don’t care about what they get for him at all. With no salary cap right now, there are no cap consequences. [...]

The St. Louis Rams have announced that they have severed ties with QB Marc Bulger. Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that there was interest from the Washington Redskins and that kept the Rams’ hope of finding a trading partner alive. Now that the Redskins have Donovan McNabb, however, we think it’s safe to say that [...]

The Dallas Cowboys have released their starting left tackle Flozell Adams. The move saves Dallas some $7.5 million in salary for the 2010 season. Adams gave up eight sacks last year and has turned into a bit of a penalty machine. But what’s funny is how the media talks about these guys. We were reading [...]

Eagles cut Kevin Curtis

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to overhaul their roster. Shawn Andrews was dropped recently and this time it was WR Kevin Curtis’ turn. Curtis was very productive and explosive when he first joined the team in 2007, but he’s been plagued by injuries since then. During that 2007 season, Curtis had 1,110 yards and was a [...]

Bears release Vasher

The Chicago Bears have released former All-Pro CB Nathan Vasher, according to Adam Schefter. Vasher, 29, was an All-Pro in 2005, but has been pretty much ineffective the last few years. Many league observers didn’t think Vasher would even make the team out of training camp anyway. Vasher started 13 games in 2006, but has [...]

Broncos cut Simms

After trading for Brady Quinn, the Denver Broncos obviously decided that QB Chris Simms wasn’t worth it. Today, they have decided to part ways with Simms, who was owed $2.54 million this season. Not too difficult to see why they didn’t want him. Simms has started just two games since 2006 when he went down [...]
