You may or may not have heard about the little incident involving Minnesota Timberwolves big man Kevin Love. On Saturday, Love took umbrage with Luis Scola of the Houston Rockets being on the floor.

So, he decided to stomp on him as they ran back up the floor and the NBA certainly took notice. Love has been suspended for two games without pay, even though he contends that it was an accident.

Yeah right.

Love will be able to come back to play against the Mavericks on Friday night, but will miss the Grizzlies and Kings. Expect Derrick Williams and Michael Beasley to pick up more minutes.

Green Bay Packers fans may or may not have noticed that their team lost this weekend to the New York Giants. Actually, it was more of a stomping, where the Giants overcame two horrific calls to still soundly beat the Pack.

You know who definitely noticed? This Packers fan right here in this video.

I’m hoping to god this was some sort of joke. This is the female equivalent of the crying Giants fan from 2009.

Really? You think they lost because of your sparkly nail glitter? Or the fact that you should have worn your Aaron Rodgers jersey instead of Clay Matthews. Here’s a tip: You won the Super Bowl last year…stfu.

On December 20th, Pittsburgh Penguins defensman Deryk Engelland thought he could make Jello out of the head of Chicago Blackhawks forward Marcus Kruger. The big man launched himself into his head and pasted him up against the boards. It was pretty nasty.

And the NHL would tend to agree with that last sentence. Its Department of Player Safety came down on Engelland today, levying a three-game suspension.

This is precisely the kind of crap the NHL wants to get rid of. So, Engelland will sit for a while and will be eligible to return against the New Jersey Devils on December 31st.

Thanks to former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Luther Broughton for tipping us off on this one. And when we say “tipping us off,” we mean that he posted it on Facebook. But yeah, this is some nonsense.

QB Matt Owens of Boston Cathedral High School ran in for a touchdown to take the lead with six minutes to go against Blue Hills. It would have given them a 18-16 lead, but there was a penalty called. Oh those penalties will get you! So, what did he do? He raised his arm for a quick “yeah!” moment as he had nothing but green in front of him. In Massachusetts, that’s ummmm….illegal.

After the penalty, Owens threw the ball to the other team and that essentially ended the game.

“In the game being played, we won the game. Give Blue Hills a lot of credit. They are a great football team, but we deserve better. The game got taken away from us,” Cathedral coach Duane Sigsbury told the Boston Globe. “If you’re going to take a game away from a kid being excited because he just made the play of his life, shame on you.”

But, as ridiculous as the call was, the ref probably made the right decision given the rule:

If the ball is alive when the player makes a taunting gesture, then the penalty is enforced at the spot of the foul – and the key outcome: no touchdown.

I understand the rule, but I guess it’s the definition of “taunting” that I’m not clear on. He absolutely did not taunt the other players. Up in Massachusetts, this type of behavior is probably equated with bullying.

“He raised his hand because he knew was going to the pinnacle,” Owens’ dad Kenneth told the Herald on Monday. “There was nothing dishonorable about the play. There was no doubt it was a touchdown. He gets 20 yards in — and he’s not thinking about the rule — and he just raised his hand.

“He handed the ball to the referee. He didn’t spike it. He goes to a Catholic school where they are taught that their God is in the sky. So I know when he raised his hand, he was thanking his Lord for what happened to him today. Football is a team sport. There’s lot of kids that are hurting today.”

Joe Cacciatore, who assigns the officials in the Catholic Conference and Greater Boston League, says the correct call was made.

“It’s tough, but the official absolutely made the right call according to the letter of the law,” Cacciatore told the Herald. “It says it right there in the rules that any attempt to draw attention to yourself, whether it is pointing the finger, raising a fist or anything like that, is a penalty. We’ve been instructed to call it when it happens, it’s zero tolerance now.”

If just about every reasonable person looks at a play and thinks it’s complete nonsense, then it’s time to change the rules.

Well, it’s Friday, and you know what that means. That’s right, racist commercials!

It’s actually not Racist Commercials Friday here at OTR, but should we start doing that? After getting into YouTube’s “racist commercial” searches, it’s clear that there are no shortage of racist commercials. We’ll have to give that some thought.

Regardless, here is a great racist mattress commercial. In defense of Gary, he does seem to make fun of all races and religions, so he isn’t singling anyone out.

Gary seems like the kind of guy who has had success selling mattresses, so he thinks he knows everything about marketing. We’ve dealt with people like this. “No, it will be funny, I’ve got this great idea for a commercial…” Then he finds some camera crew who doesn’t care and just wants to get paid, so they’ll tell him it’s great and everyone will love it.

This little kid is balling over the thrashing that the New England Patriots gave to his Eagles last Sunday. We think there were probably even some adults in the Delaware Valley behaving like this and rightly so.

But, this kid doesn’t take his frustrations out on his worthless team. Nope, he blames the guy who ruined the Eagles last week: Tom Brady.

I admit that I am getting pretty tired of the Penn State/Joe Paterno/Jerry Sandusky discussion. Everyone has an opinion and I’m just sick of hearing about it. Should they have fired Joe? What did he know? When did he know it? It’s mostly conjecture right now and while I have an opinion too, I’ll spare you the agony of hearing it.

But, we just stumbled up on this via SportsGrid.com. If you haven’t heard already, former Penn St. defensive coordinator is in deep, deep trouble for committing some of the most heinous acts known to our society on children. Allegedly.

Knowing that, watch this 2007 interview where he talks a little football and also mentions his Second Mile charity, which is supposed to reach out to at-risk children. He allegedly used this foundation to assault even more young boys.

So yeah, watch this interview knowing that. The part about throwing boys rope is especially creepy.

Not sure how anyone could describe this as anything but horrific. We usually post funny stupid stuff on OTR, but this is the exact opposite. We’re posting this in the hopes that more people can see this and that this low-life, two-bit piece of horse manure gets disbarred and hopefully put in prison.

This is Judge William Adams from Texas. And this is what he does to his daughter when he catches her….using the internet? You’d think this girl got caught raping his wife or something. What could she have possibly done to deserve this?

His daughter Hillary, is actually the one that posted this according to the YouTube notes. They read:

This is absolutely awful. Not only should this douchebag not be allowed to practice law or be a judge, he should be in prison. I’m not liberal to the point where parents can’t give their kids a quick crack for acting up, but a severe, repeated beating with a belt is way past the line. You’re a loser and deserve to be treated like one. You whooped up on a 16-year old girl, good luck with Bubba in prison.

Did anyone see the Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz fight on Saturday night. Quite an eventful fight and better than a lot of the boring crap the boxing world has been serving us lately.

Late in the fight, Ortiz clearly headbutts Mayweather, which was nonsense. He apologized, but there’s no excuse for that. After the ref stopped the fight briefly, he had them touch gloves and start the fight again. Ortiz must not have gotten the memo because he didn’t get his gloves up, and Mayweather made him pay the price. He knocked him out and that was that.

Then, they fight started. Usually, HBO’s Larry Merchant bores the crap out of us with his post-fight interviews. He seems hammered and takes forever to spit out a question. Mayweather answered his questions about whether or not he took advantage of Ortiz having his gloves down, but when Merchant persisted, Mayweather popped off.

He screamed at Merchant, telling him that he’ll never give Mayweather a fair shake. Then said that HBO should fire him because “you don’t know shit about boxing!” Merchant said he wished he was 50 years younger so he could kick his ass.

We couldn’t find his name (nor did we try very hard), but this guy might be more fun to watch than the actual game. This isn’t even a case of a guy being a little bit light in the loafers, he just absolutely goes over the top.

Look at the way he gives a yellow card! This guy can’t wait to show his stuff off.

This is some hardcore hurricane coverage, and I mean that in a very literal sense. This reporter, Eric Fisher of the Weather Channel, in Virginia Beach is expressing his outrage for how stupid all these people are that are out and about as Hurricane Irene approaches them.

He’d probably be more frustrated if he knew that a guy behind him was dropping his shorts on camera.

I guess this guy helped to make his point about the stupidity of the people that were out in the storm. You don’t see many Harvard professors pulling stunts like this in a hurricane. But if you happen to hear of one on Youtube, please email it to us.

This is either great or terrible, depending on how sadistic you and your sense of humor are. This is some sort of skateboarding video where they are interviewing a kid about something (we weren’t really listening).

As it is, we think pre-race prayers are a little over the top. In other sports, you’ll see guys get together for prayers, but they aren’t announced over the PA system.

But, NASCAR is huge in the South, where it’s just assumed that everyone is a Christian and there aren’t any Jews or Muslims lurking. So, they let the prayer stuff fly.

But, Pastor Joe Nelms really let’s it fly. He thanks the lord for all the corporate sponsors and tires and his hot wife and……just watch.

“I tried to spice it up a little,” Nelms told the AP.

“I put in some driver lingo,” he said. “The Bible says laughter is like a medicine, and I wanted people to see that side of religion.”

Usually when OTR posts random soccer highlights, they were spoon fed from OTR’s brother Chad. And this is the case yet again.

OTR admits that it has an absolute boner over Lionel Messi. This guy is just on a different planet. Sure, there are tons of great soccer players in the world (Hope Solo, Alex Morgan….the best of the best), but something about Messi is just so electrifying. He’s the kind of player that you can hold up to people that hate soccer, and even they have to say….”are you serious???”

And another great part of this video? It’s set to Rodrigo y Gabriela. Look them up. Just a dude and a chick who play the hell out of their acoustics guitars. Tons of fun!

At a recent Seattle Mariners game, some kid decided to show off his “Thriller” moves a la Michael Jackson. He looks maybe eight or nine years old, but he dances well beyond his years.

Maybe the Mariners just aren’t entertaining enough and they’ll have to keep bringing this kid back so they can sell some tickets.

Kudos to the camera operator who was also probably bored with baseball and decided to find some real entertainment. This kid is either super excited that he’s now a YouTube sensation, or super mortified. Maybe a little of both.

I just saw on Twitter from a New York Mets beat writer that assistant GM John Ricco actually likes the fake John Ricco commercials. The writer said to Google it if you didn’t know what he was talking about. So I did.

This is pretty funny. It’s a guy pretending to be John Ricco hyping the Mets for the 2011 season. Some of the high points this year are that Luis Castillo, Oliver Perez and Bobby Bonilla aren’t here (even though Bonilla will get paid for the next 10 years or so) and that Mookie Wilson is the first base coach. “You can pretend it’s 1986!”

I think it’s funny that Ricco saw this and thinks it’s funny. What other choice does he have? His team is in last place in the NL East so he should probably spend most of his time looking at random YouTube videos.

Anyone out there into lacrosse? No? Well, here’s a pretty sweet lacrosse video that might get you into the sport for 1-2 minutes.

This is how Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C. clinched their conference title. I take it the game was tied, but if that’s the case, where was the other team’s goalie? Did anyone else have trouble finding the keeper? Why was he pulled if it’s a tie game?

Not that I really care. Check this out though, reminds me of something I would do. I am very big on “you can’t score if you don’t shoot.” Great example of that.

Former Philadelphia Phillie and current Phillies television color man, Gary Matthews, is now a bonified music star. We’ve pasted below his first hit, “Jerk off the Ball (featuring DJ Tom McCarthy)”

Matthews, aka Sarge, has made some great one liners in his day, but they probably didn’t come out as expected. So, someone got bored and put a bunch of these brilliant comments and made a slow-jam song out of it.

Check it out and let us know what you think. Does Sarge have what it takes to start a recording career? I guess he just needs to keep doing what he’s doing and let bored people who live in their parents’ basement do the rest. It will save him a ton in studio rental fees.

Here is the video of a Cleveland Indians fan humping their mascot, Slider. Slider and the team employee certainly didn’t appreciate it, but we did!

And just a side note, what the hell is this thing? It’s named “Slider” (we get it! Baseball reference!), but it looks like Big Bird banged it out with Barney. What a bunch of nonsense. What was the thought process behind this thing?

Team Executive 1: “We need a mascot, pronto.”

Team Executive 2: “Well….we’re the Indians, so why not get someone to dress up like a real Indian? Or (in an exaggerated, partially retarded tone with finger quote marks) ‘Natiiiiive Amerrricaaaaannnn’ to be ‘politicalllllyyyyyyy correeeeeccct.’”

Team Executive 1: “I like that idea. Instead of throwing out t-shirts to the crowd, he could throw out playing cards and foam slot machines, because you know how they all own…”

Team Attorney: “Uhhhh yeaahhhh I…uhhhh….think we should go in a different direction there, Bill. I think that might land us in some hot water and I think…”

Team Executive 1: “Oh blow me, Ed! If it’s fun, we can’t do it, right? Then whatever then. Make it a stupid-ass purple donkey for all I care. And throw some yellow shit on it for hair or whatever. Just do it fast. If we don’t get a mascot soon, what are our fans going to pretend to fuck?”

Lionel Messi has 27 goals in 26 La Liga games this season. He also owns a boat and knows some conversational French, so I think it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about scoring goals.

We don’t know whether or not he meant to do this, but during a recent warmup for an Argentina/USA match, he kicked one ball off of another and they both went in the goal. Pretty amazing if he meant to do it.

You decide. Did Messi mean to knock both of these balls in? Tough to doubt him if he says he did.

I was talking to my cousin the other night while watching soccer, and we both agreed that it was such a shame that Zidane had to go out like that. Why, in the last few minutes of your final international game (the World Cup Final no less), would you play the head butt card? Sadly, this is how too many will remember him.

The truth is that Zidane is a mf’ing stud. He was an absolute genius with the ball and possessed it as well as I’ve ever seen. He’s retired now, but that doesn’t mean he’s done taking a dump on others on the pitch.

At an Adidas event (shown here in the video if you hadn’t figured that out), Zidane showed that he’s still got it. He craps all over this poor young goalie, but notice that he goes over to make sure the kid is okay mentally….sort of. That kid will actually remember this schooling for the rest of his life.

J.J. is a hell of a soccer player. Maybe too good. Maybe he’s so good that there simply aren’t many ways to defend him.

Clearly, this kid thought something along those lines. Instead of tracking J.J. down and assaulting him with a vicious slide tackle from behind, he took a much easier route.

After all, why slide tackle him when you can just punch him right in the face? So yeah, that’s what happens here. We’ve seen more ruthless assaults in our time, but this is pretty bad behavior for a kid. He’s got “college material” written all over him.

We all love Kobe Bryant, right? No? Okay, then forget that lede. Let me start over.

Some people love Kobe Bryant. Others don’t. But, that has nothing to do with this post. So forget I even mentioned it. We wanted to pass this along because we think it’s strange. There is video here that clearly shows someone giving Bryant something as he walks off the floor of a game.

Now, if it was just a random guy handing him something (especially if the guy was in Muslim garb and the package was shaped like C4 explosives), he probably would have given it back a la Hot Potato. Professional athletes usually don’t take kindly to random people handing them things while they aren’t really paying attention.

Some have speculated that he was being served with a paternity suit. I’m not exactly sure how one would deduce that this is what happened here, but it is really weird how he takes the package and keeps moving without breaking stride.

There is a good chance that you’ve already seen this. After all it has more than 2,700,000 views, so this is hardly a secret.

The dude found that someone got into the cat treats. He eventually found the culprit as the dog can’t keep a straight face.

This is hilarious and relatively short. Unless you don’t like dogs at all, in which case it will be boring and long.

One thing that we’ve never understood about people who want to take shots at others, is you have to at least come across as credible. While aren’t huge fans of clumping together groups of people, if you were going to do so you probably shouldn’t sound incredibly stupid.

And that’s the second biggest problem we have with this UCLA student ragging about the school’s Asian population (the first is obviously the fact that she did so at all). But she sounds so flipping stupid, how could anyone take her seriously? Really? You’re in college? UCLA should be thrilled that you are representative of their student body!

Not only are her comments ignorant, she literally sounds like a dope in the way she speaks. Like, Michelle Bachmann-type of stupid. Watch it and decide for yourself if she was even worth responding to.

Who doesn’t love a good ol’ fashioned fight where one person is running his mouth and the other is trying to avoid a physical conflict? Of course, the peaceful dude ends up dropping the diarrhea-mouthed homeboy.

This is what happens when you are a sports announcer talking about players whose last name is Gay. This will eventually happen. It’s simply too easy.

After the San Diego State basketball game, the announcers are reliving the big moment of D.J. Gay, who played really well. But, maybe this announcer likes him a little too much. Like, more than a friend.

You may not have know this, but you know now. He’s always been a Gay guy.

This reminds us of 2005, when Steve Lavin and Rick Majerus were talking about Rudy Gay. Look at Lavin’s reaction when Majerus says he’s never been “a big Gay guy.”

If you’re like me, you are a ginormous fan of hip hop dance teams. You’ll hear tons of sports fans get all excited about stupid things like the Super Bowl and the NCAA’s March Madness and the World Series.

To me? It’s all stupid. I personally can’t wait to watch the televised competitions of various collegiate cheerleaders and dance teams.

And this year’s hip hop dance off thing did not disappoint. It was down to the wire as we awaited the judges decision, and I personally can’t blame Marina Barrett for going batshit insane when she found out her team won. It would hypocritical of me, as I was doing the same thing in my living room! Memphis is my absolute favorite hip hop dance team, and at the moment they were announced as winners, I felt like I won too.

A friend of ours sent us a tweet about this Horace Spencer III kid. A 6′ 8″ teenager who likes to be called “LeBron, who?”

Odds are, he’s not the next LeBron James. Why? Because there is one LeBron James and there are a lot of tall, athletic kids who never even sniff the NBA, let alone become one of its elite players.

So, when we first looked at this video, we thought he was in high school and thought, ‘so what? There are a lot of tall high school kids.’ But Spencer is in eighth friggin’ grade!

And a side note, is his name Horace or Horence? Most of the links on the web say Horace, but this video says Horence. That’s actually a big difference. Sort it out!
